Electrical Designer (4572-872)

STV, Inc. located in Douglassville, PA is seeking an entry-level Electrical Designer to support a growing number of projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accomplish project related clerical and reproduction duties as directed by senior staff.
Apply client and departmental design guidelines and/or drafting standards in daily work assignments with guidance from senior staff. Ensure that layer names, line types, text sizes, and drawing arrangements are in accordance with standards as set forth on the Project.
Completely back-check own work prior to submitting to Supervisor or Lead Designer.
With assistance from senior staff, will modify or create wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, PLC cabinet design, plot plans, loop diagrams, I/O lists, P&IDs, cable/conduit schedules, panelboard schedules, cable tray plans, grounding plans, electrical and instrument installation details.
Perform basic electrical calculations: conduit fill, voltage drop (1 ph, 3 ph, dc), cable sizing and ampacity, EGC sizing, feeder sizing, overcurrent protection device sizing, transformer sizing.
Travel to and conduct site surveys to document electrical, instrumentation, and controls at existing client sites and facilities ( 5% of time) with assistance from senior personnel.
Required Skills
Two+ year technical degree in Electrical and/or Instrumentation (or a degree in either Elec or Instr and equivalent practical experience in the other) and 0 to 2 yr design experience.
Basic knowledge of the latest version of the National Electrical Code.
Basic knowledge of electrical calculations: conduit fill, voltage drop (1 ph, 3 ph, dc), cable sizing and ampacity, EGC sizing, feeder sizing, overcurrent protection device sizing, transformer sizing.
Basic knowledge of selecting instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature) transmitters and switches
Basic knowledge of selecting components for the design of PLC systems including I/O, architecture, configuration, and communication links (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet, etc)
Basic knowledge of low voltage power electrical equipment (motor control centers, motor starter controls, motors, transformers, etc.)
Functional knowledge of the latest (or one previous version) of AutoCAD to create drawings and documents from scratch based on sketches/ hand marked up prints and verbal instructions, scaling, paper space/model space concepts, reference files, and viewports. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills in team environments and one-on-one.
Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
